Welcome to Bale Piano & Music Studio, offering private music instruction to students of all ages & abilities.

ABOUT AUSTIN

Austin Bale grew up in Arlington Heights and began his piano studies with Mary Ann Alexander at the age of 7. At Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Austin studied piano with Jeremy Denk, and jazz with Luke Gillespie and David Baker.

After college, Austin ventured into the world of electronic music, composing under the pseudonym Anabel. His music has been featured in soundtracks for TV and film, on WBEZ radio, and in ads for Etsy and Busy Beaver Button Company.

Performances have taken him to Prague, Budapest, Sofia, the Musikverien in Vienna, and Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, and he has attended institutes at Interlochen, Tanglewood, and CNMAT at UC Berkley.

Despite achievements as a performer and composer, Austin’s favorite role as a musician has been as teacher to hundreds of students. After years of teaching throughout Chicago’s North Shore, Austin opened Bale Piano & Music Studio in 2011 with a mission to develop competent and thoughtful musicians of all ages.
